Why it's important to point out the fact that many dragons share the names of angels who appear in the Bible and/or the Book of Enoch[]

Dragons and Angels are said to be ancient, "natural" enemies, a tradition going back so far that many dragons cannot remember why. This is mainly why it is so very ironic that many dragons actually share angelic names. Is there a deeper meaning to this? Possibly, especially if you have read the DOD1.3 novella...

Here's a short break-down of names of the dragons and their angelic counterpart:

  • Angel / Angelus: A direct reference to not a specific angel, but one much more indirectly relating to them all
  • Legna: This is merely a reverse spelling of "angel" which denotes his very nature of an anti-angel destroyer.
  • Michael[1]: His name means "he who is like God". He lead an army of angels to fight against Lucifer, among other feats of wonder.
  • Gabriel[2]: His name means "the strength of God". He is seen many times as the messenger of good news.

The others are a mish-mash of archangels, angels, and Watchers:

  • Raphael[3]: His name means "God heals".
  • Phanuel[4]: He is the fourth angel that stands before God, after Michael, Raphael, and Gabriel.
  • Armaros[5]: Meaning "cursed one" or "accursed one", Armaros is the eleventh on a list of 20 leaders of a group of 200 fallen angels called Grigori or "Watchers" in the Book of Enoch.
  • Armisael: Mountain of Judgment of God
  • Abdiel: Servant of God
  • Zophiel / Jophiel[6]: My Rock is God

The origin of the name "Mikhail"[]

  • Although there are many variants of the name in a multitude of languages, it seems as though the Russian usage is the most common.[7]
  • There are several famous people who have shared the name Mikhail, one being the previous leader of the Soviet Union, Mikhail Gorbachev.[8][9]
